Do you know what walkability is and how if can improve your lifestyle?

If you’ve ever lived in a walkable neighborhood, it’s pretty tough to leave. Immediate access to groceries, pubs, restaurants, shopping and recreation can help you ditch the car and associated high parking fees, and upgrade to a bike or scooter. Walking instead of driving will save you time and help you gain that Colorado lifestyle. I think it’s important for renters to ‘feel’ the neighborhood before signing a lease, so it’s worth their time to use sites like walkscore.com to get an unbiased perspective on walkability. Then when you narrowing down your search, have brunch or a drink in an area you are considering. Neighborhoods feel 100% different in the evening and morning as opposed to the time you may have toured an apartment.

Pets enjoy walkability too! When a client tells me that they have a dog, my mind goes to areas of Denver that offer immediate access to grass and or hiking/running trails. In our Furamily, we have two high energy labs. Getting them out twice a day is a MUST or they let me know they aren’t happy. Plus, I need the exercise myself. 300 days of sunshine means 300 days of beautiful walks with your best friend IF you live in the right area!
